The name
Why IDUNN?
In Norse mythology, Iðunn is the goddess entrusted with the apples that preserve vitality and renewal.
She does not create strength from nothing. She keeps what is already there in good condition — protecting the capacity to remain well over time.
That idea sits closely with how we think about healthcare.
Your body already has a remarkable ability to move, adapt, strengthen and recover. Much of good healthcare is not about replacing that ability, but about understanding it, protecting it and supporting it where it needs help.
That is the thinking behind our name — and behind the apple and laurel in our mark.
IDUNN is the evolution of Orthoflex.
Orthoflex was established as an orthopaedic and physiotherapy clinic in Dubai Healthcare City. Over time, the care our patients asked for grew beyond that.
People came to us with pain, but also wanted to move better. They recovered from injury, and then wanted to understand their wider health. They asked about skin and body treatments, and wanted the same professional judgement they had experienced elsewhere in the clinic.
IDUNN brings those areas together under one approach, rather than treating them as unrelated services.
The clinic, the team and the standard of care remain the same. What has changed is how we describe what we do — and how those areas now connect around one person.
You are in the right place.
During our transition, you may continue to see the Orthoflex name on our clinic signage, invoices and certain administrative or regulatory materials.
If you are an existing Orthoflex patient, nothing about your care changes. Your records, your practitioner and your treatment continue as before.

The quality of care starts with the people providing it. Our clinical team brings training and board certification from Europe, the UK and Ireland to Dubai Healthcare City:
- 3 European board certifications in orthopaedic surgery — Denmark, Sweden and Norway
- 30+ years of international clinical experience per consultant
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin
- Advanced fellowships at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and University College London
- Memberships including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, ESSKA and the British Hip Society
- Registered with the UK General Medical Council
