Pore Extraction
Clearer pores. Not different ones.
Safe, sterile clearing of blackheads and congestion — with a straight answer about whether pore size itself can be changed.
Extraction clears the blocked material — oil, dead skin and debris — that sits in the pore and oxidises into a blackhead. The skin is softened first so the pore releases rather than being forced.
The session typically runs 30 to 45 minutes and finishes with a calming treatment. Mild redness afterwards usually settles within hours.
Can pore size actually be changed?
This is the question worth a straight answer. Pore size is largely determined by genetics and skin type, and it is not something a treatment permanently shrinks.
What changes is how visible they are. A pore emptied of oxidised debris looks considerably smaller than the same pore packed with it, and skin with better texture and firmness around the pore reads as smoother. That is a real improvement — but it is a different claim from making pores permanently smaller, and we would rather be clear about which one we are offering.
Why not do it at home
Because the realistic outcomes of picking are broken capillaries, inflammation, spreading a blockage deeper, and post-inflammatory marks that last far longer than the blackhead would have.
In medium and darker skin those marks are more likely and more persistent, which makes the case against home extraction stronger here than almost anywhere.
Frequently Asked Questions
It makes them look smaller by clearing what is packed inside them. Pore size itself is largely genetic and is not permanently shrunk by a treatment — that is a different claim.
It can be briefly uncomfortable on congested areas. The skin is softened first, which makes it considerably more tolerable than picking at home.
It depends on how quickly your skin congests. Many people have it as part of a regular facial rather than as a standalone treatment.
Home picking commonly causes broken capillaries, inflammation, deeper blockage and marks that outlast the blemish — and those marks are more persistent in medium and darker skin.
Mild redness around the treated areas usually settles within a few hours.
If your skin produces oil and congests, yes, over time. Regular extraction plus a suitable home routine keeps it under control rather than ending it permanently.
